I am a painter, with a background in Textile Design and Ceramics
She has a 1st Class BA Hons from Bristol Art School.
I ran my own Textile Design Studio 'Digby Morton Designs' in Clerkenwell London for ten years, selling designs, to Designers such as Liberty, Monsoon, Laura Ashley, Calvin Klein and Cerrutti, amongst others.
I now work from my North Norfolk home / Studio and paint still lives, with ceramic pots and jugs, fruit and flowers . Pattern , colour and texture play an important role in all my paintings a throwback to my past as a textile designer and ceramicist.
I paint the seascapes of the North Norfolk Coast on my doorstep inspired by the expansive skies and unique Marram Grass covered dunes of this amazing place.
Always I have used elements of collage and gold leaf in my paintings to create a painting surface with a mosaic and multi - faceted feel.
I use techniques of layering and scraping back to create texture that results in paintings that are vibrant, luminous and full of interest.
In my work creative freedom is important . I am thankful I can paint everyday and so creativity is part of my life .
If people feel happy looking at my paintings then I have achieved something I was hoping for.
I have recently worked with the amazing Aquarelle Publishing who now produce a range of Limited Edition Prints of my paintings . They represent many great artist including Mary Fedden and Quentin Blake - so I am in good company.
